Bios Scientific
BRANDING PRINT WEBSITE
Personalized Medicine & Patient Care
Bios Scientific is a genetic testing laboratory dedicated to providing vital insights to physicians and patients that can be used to guide treatment. The company specializes in cutting-edge genetic analysis, playing a crucial role in patient healthcare decisions. While their work is essential, it often goes unnoticed by patients—functioning behind the scenes to ensure optimal outcomes.

Problem Statement
Patients receive better care when their physicians have access to comprehensive, reliable genetic information. However, many healthcare providers face challenges in obtaining precise genetic data that can guide treatment decisions. Bios Scientific bridges this gap by leveraging cutting-edge genetic analysis to provide physicians with critical insights into patient risk factors, medication responses, and long-term treatment plans. The challenge lies in effectively communicating this value through branding and website design, ensuring that healthcare professionals and patients alike can easily understand and trust Bios Scientific’s offerings.

Solution
To address this challenge, the branding and website design for Bios Scientific needed to emphasize trust, clarity, and accessibility.
-
Logo: In an oversaturated genetic testing market, it was crucial to create a logo that stood out while maintaining scientific credibility. The color palette and typography were carefully selected to balance an analytical feel with approachability. The overall look and feel needed to convey innovation and reliability to ensure Bios Scientific remains memorable to both physicians and patients.
-
Website: The website was designed with a dual-audience approach, ensuring seamless navigation for both healthcare providers and patients. Key solutions included:
-
User-Centric Navigation: A streamlined interface with clear pathways for different user needs, such as accessing test information, interpreting results, and contacting support.
-
Educational Content: Concise, well-structured explanations of genetic testing benefits and processes, tailored for varying levels of medical knowledge.
-
Responsive & Accessible Design: Ensuring usability across devices, including mobile, with ADA and WCAG compliant features for enhanced accessibility.
-
Secure Patient Portal: A dedicated area for physicians and patients to access test results securely and efficiently.

Research, Findings,
and Design Approach
There is an increasing demand for faster test results while still providing perfect accuracy. There is no room for error when providing patients with critical information regarding their healthcare.
-
Target Audience:
-
Primary care physicians and specialists that have an increasing demand for faster test results;
-
Patients seeking perfectly accurate diagnostic results.
-
-
Competitors:
-
Large national labs emphasizing cost-effectiveness and faster service;
-
Local, smaller/start-up labs focusing on personal service.
-
-
Strengths: CLIA certified and COLA accredited, team has access to the latest cutting edge technologies
-
Weaknesses & Threats: Price pressure from large, national labs, limited marketing efforts, and an oversaturated market

Concept Development
The foundation of the logo design was inspired by the term BIOS—a critical software component in computers that initializes all other processes. Just as a computer’s BIOS is responsible for controlling hardware and enabling functionality, Bios Scientific’s work is fundamental to patient care, influencing it in ways a patient may never directly see. The goal of the logo was to visually capture this essential, yet often overlooked, role in healthcare.
